FAQs

  • What do Chiropractors treat?

Chiropractors treat a wide range of different things, here are just some examples:

    • Headaches (including migraine prevention)
    • Back pain
    • Joint pain
    • Neck pain
    • Sports injuries
    • Muscle spasms
    • Plantar fasciitis
    • Sciatica
    • Shoulder problems
    • Tension & inability to relax
    • Elbow pain
    • Generalised aches and pains
  • Do I need to be in pain to come in?

No! We see lots of patients for things such as poor posture, as well as preventative maintenance care - this means coming in for appointments to help prevent pain in the first place.

  • How long will my appointment last?

Your initial appointment can last up to around 45 minutes. Follow up appointments are usually 15-20 minutes.

  • What should I wear to my initial appointment?

Wear something comfortable that you can move in - we will be performing orthopaedic tests to assess your mobility and function. You do not have to get changed during this appointment. Please note: sometimes clothing may need to be moved to get a visual idea of what is going on; this will always be discussed with you first. Massage appointments are different to this and you will likely need to change; your massage therapist will discuss this with you at the beginning of your appointment and towels are used to keep you covered as much as possible.

  • Will I get my back cracked?

The best answer to this is…maybe! We do utilise chiropractic adjustments as part of our treatment here at Gryffe Chiropractic. An adjustment is a quick impulse to a joint in your spine to restore movement in this area. Sometimes you hear a ‘crack’ from this when a gas bubble pops in this area as the pressure changes from the adjustment itself, however this should not be painful. Chiropractic adjustments are not suitable for everyone, we will tailor your treatment plan to your own individual preferences and needs.

  • Will I be sore after my appointment?

Again, maybe. Some people can be tender for up to about 24 hours after their appointment. We find that most of our patients feel relief after their appointment though, instead of soreness.

  • How long will it take me to get better?

This is variable depending on factors such as: your condition and the length of time it has been going on, age, activity level, etc. We find that most patients feel relief fairly quickly with care, usually within a few treatments over a few weeks. A lot of people feel better even after their first appointment!

  • How often do I need to come in?

This is also variable as everyone is different. This will be discussed with you at your appointment.

  • Which payment methods do you accept?

We take both card and cash payments.
